Pierre-Yves Rochon, of Paris- and Chicago-based firm PYR, designed Villa Héritage in the shape of a square. Each of its disparate rooms, treated as chapters in a continuous story, invites contemplation. Take the cinematic white room, where light and projections play with surfaces or the bright green winter garden that draws from timeless Italian landscapes. There’s also the energetic red salon, a theatrical gathering space that markedly contrasts with the soothing plum-toned library, and the central patio dominated by an Alpange piano that heightens the sense of emotion.
