Versatile cork, a 100 percent renewable material born from harvested bark of the cork oak tree, is one of the world’s most sustainable. Showcasing its extensive reuse and recycling capabilities is Casa Cork, a tactile installation hatched by the non-profit organisation Cork Collective and New York-based design firm Rockwell Group in partnership with Portuguese cork producer Corticeira Amorim. The centrepiece, a towering tree crafted from virgin cork bark, is complemented by furniture and accessories spawned from the material, as well as creations generated in a student design competition. Educational talks, meanwhile, take place in the salon, which doubles as a social hub complete with tastings.
