For this reason, Isola’s 2025 theme, Design is Human, emphasizes the need for thoughtful solutions that prioritise people and sustainability. At Milan Design Week 2025, Isola Design Festival will gather a global community of designers to explore new approaches that merge technology, craftsmanship, and social responsibility, inspiring a shift toward design that enhances both human well-being and the environment.

During Milan Design Week 2025, Isola will transform BasicVillage Milano into its main hub, bringing together international designers, studios, and creators from its growing community.

Reflecting Isola’s theme, Design is Human, the venue will emphasise a human-centered approach to design. Originally a 20th-century rubber factory, the industrial complex has evolved into a space for creativity, work, and events, with its historic chimney preserved as a symbol of industrial heritage blending with contemporary design. BasicVillage will serve as a vibrant hub for collaboration, innovation, and impactful design throughout the festival.
